History of American Log Homes

American Log Homes was incorporated under the laws of
the State of Missouri in 1977.  The founder and president,
Clyde Cremer, is a graduate forester with many years of
experience in the forests of the United States.  Cremer has
a BS in forestry from Stephen F. Austin State University
(Nacagdoches, TX), and a Master's of Forestry from Yale
University.

His experience in log home manufacture dates back to
1973.  It was the belief of Cremer that a better log could
be produced at a more competitive price than products
then on the market.  The drafting table was literally
cleared off and a new log design was perfected.

This new design started with a well-seasoned timber and
then a double tongue-and-groove was milled into the log,
along with a drip edge.  From this superior log design, the
total log home construction system has evolved into one
known for its quality.

In 1984, American Log Homes started its second plant
facility in Pueblo West, CO. This is now the main plant and
processes logs for distribution throughout the West and
Japan.  The Midwest plant is located near Bourbon, MO.
This plant ships its homes throughout the Midwest and East
Coast.
